A few years ago, the last building of this piece of land collapsed and has left a void in one of the most important historical places: the downtown.
This was a unique opportunity to intervene in the greatest affluence area of natives and foreign tourists. In a no more than 2 kilometers radius, there are located all touristic attractions such as museums, churches, libraries, pedestrian ways, parks, squares and historic neighborhoods and traditional markets, among others. Therefore, the Hotel Centro 2010's Contest challenged to design a hotel dedicated to recreational tourism and which it is establish as an architectural significance building, coexisting with the immediate context, composed of sixteenth to twentieth centuries buildings.
